Paddle northern Yukon's true jewel. The Wind's crystal-clear waters are perfect and you can hike the alpine ridges.
The Wind River is one of northern Yukon's true jewels. Starting at McCluskey Lake, there is a short portage to the Wind. The upper section has no mighty rapids, but there is definitely some fun maneouvering in its crystal clear waters. Sharp bends and converging currents allow for some easy-to-intermediate whitewater, often braided with gravelly shoals.
The hiking is great, since the alpine ridges and peaks are close to the river. This is an excellent trip for the novice to intermediate whitewater paddler. Skill level 1+.

The trip exceeded my expectations. Having visited the north for the first time, there is no way I could have imagined how truly beautiful it is.
Being away, in a gorgeous wilderness, for a length of time … soul food.
Fabulous scenery, good wildlife, amazing guides!
